What can drawing do? What can be done in drawings? Gagan Singh uses lines to restage lived experiences and to orchestrate transgressive situations that give form to desire, violence and loss. Many of these investigations bring into focus the construction of masculinity, particularly in South Asia, through attention to its various enactments of power as well as its crippling failures.

What I Did Every Day, Singh’s second solo exhibition at Chatterjee & Lal, brings together drawings of varying scale made over the last seven years, and include both the fantastical and the autobiographical.
