Kausik Mukhopadhyay (b. 1960) lives and works in Mumbai. Over a career spanning more than three decades, he has developed a distinctive practice of kinetic and static sculptural installations, repurposing discarded mechanical and electronic components into assemblages that are at once whimsical and unsettling. His work has been presented widely in India and internationally, including at the Tate, London, and the Kochi-Muziris Biennale. Chatterjee & Lal has hosted two solo exhibitions of his work and has featured him in major art fairs over the past five years. Alongside his studio practice, Mukhopadhyay has taught for many years at leading architecture schools, introducing generations of students to the intersections of art, design, and environment.
