Overview

For the exhibition ‘I”, Pullarwar exhibits works that have a dual existence. When seen from far the works are representational, all of them being self portraits. The closer one gets, the more the works dissolve into abstraction.  The artist has created an utterly unique formulation of the silkscreen method. These one-off works use inks as their base: in this sense they become intertwined with a painting tradition.

In 2005 Pullarwar was awarded the most promising artist of the year award by the National Gallery of Modern Art, Mumbai.
